Signal

In darkness, we await light — as we await hope. The light in the work comes from the transmission of people's phones; together with audiences who walk into the piece, the movement of light through space represents signal transmission and movement. When the work receives a signal, it presents it through light's movement. If the process encounters no one, the light signal remains silent and unresponsive. If it encounters a person during its movement, the light produces oscillations and echoes, symbolizing reception or response. The work attempts to use floor projection and lasers to present the visual of a "Network Sea" — using coordinates, connections, and shapes to represent the concept of a vast network. Each connection in the work symbolizes: when entering the work through an internet connection, a circular dynamic image appears on the ground, accompanied by visualized data such as IP information. When a person walks in, irregular dynamic halos appear around them on the ground. Virtual and real people coexist simultaneously in the space, with multiple virtual and real presences possible at once.
